Dereje Bereta is Director of Rankings for AllWorld Network.

Dereje came to AllWorld after nine years with the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC), a national not-for-profit organization founded by Professor Michel Porter of Harvard Business School. As a Senior Analyst responsible for managing the Inner City 100 Program, a national ranking of the fastest growing private businesses located in America's core urban areas, Dereje was responsible for building the foundation and database infrastructure for the program that uncovered hundreds of the most successful companies located in America’s inner cities.

Dereje’s experience also includes market-based economic development in underdeveloped and emerging economies, international economic development and entrepreneurship. Prior to ICIC, Dereje worked as an economist for a number of national and international organizations engaged in public policy studies and in establishing social and economic institutions in his home country, Ethiopia.

Dereje holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Addis Ababa University, School of Business and Economics, Ethiopia and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
